Week 38 Day 1 - Cruel Angel's Thesis

Hi, again, and welcome to another week of Anime greats. Let's begin with a very well and truly 1995 classic song that needs almost no introduction:-

Song: 残酷な天使のテーゼ by 高橋 洋子
Zankoku na Tenshi no TEZE [Cruel Angel's Thesis] by Takahashi Yoko

Yes, this is the 1995 classic OP for the ever great show, Neon Genesis Evangelion [新世紀エヴァンゲリオン | Shin Seiki Evangerion (New Century Evangelion)]. The OP found below:-

Well, I shan't talk to much about it, except give in to the usual additional videos. Oh, and lyrics to be found here (as well as on title).

Here's to the additional stuffs:-

[The 10th anniversary re-recorded version of the song. Sounds more jazzy]

[The recently re-released 2009 version]

Both versions by the original singer.

[Here's one by the 3 main female characters; Rei Ayanami (Megumi Hayabashira | 林原 めぐみ), Asuka Soryu Langley (Yūko Miyamura | 宮村 優子) & Misato Katsuragi (Kotono Mitsuishi | 三石 琴乃). There's even a version by Shinji Ikari (Megumi Ogata | 緒方 恵美) which is found here.]
[Note: Unfortunately, I can't find each of the seiyuu's solo song, so you'd have to settle for chorus version]

[Cover version by Heavy Metal band, Animetal]

[Cover by Shoko Nakagawa]

[Even a cover by m.o.v.e in their newest album]

[Piano cover by DO no hito. Also included here, is an updated version from him]

[Piano + Violin cover]

[Parody from Lucky Star]

[And also Haruhi]

[It's touhou, it's IN! This vid also includes the ED to the series. Also, the comparison vid.]

And finally, my PERSONAL favourite cover:-

[Cover by Katsura Hinagiku (Itou Shizuka | 伊藤 静). Sadly, the scene in which this song appeared in Hayate is hard to be found.]

[This might be it, but I can't view it ><"]
[Bonus AMV]

And lastly, as always, I end it with:-

[Exit trance version. As usual. Both different versions too.]

That's it for today. There are actually somemore stuffs, but I think that's enough. I also seem to be mildly food poisoned, so won't go on for much more.
Until next time, ciaoz

Note: Anyone readily anticipating the tetralogy movies?
